Just ate from there today. Not closed.
Shocked at how expensive it was. Kids chicken nuggets (4 small ones), fries and a drink cost $8.50! Burger combo is $15+. Far too pricey for the quality. Service was good.
Only licks I know of left. Annual stop on the way North
Stopped here on our way up north for dinner, the young man taking the orders was friendly as was the man doing the bulk of the cooking. However, Sandra, the woman doing the condiment station was very rude to say the least. She asked me what I wanted on my burger, and didnt even give me a minute to look over what they had, before she raised her voice demanding I tell her what I wanted on my burger... the food was tasty but way over priced. Would recommend going to the Tim Hortons at this location instead
If you are really hungry I would suggest stopping here however if you can wait an extra 10 minutes driving through Parry Sound, stop at exit 224 as there are more restaurants/fast food places. I ordered chicken fingers and fries and it cost $15. The chicken fingers were hard and burnt however they did make me new ones when I requested. Average food.
Food was decent, but service was chaotic and very rushed. I would have appreciated just a little more care put into my meal. It's obvious someone told the workers to prioritize speed over service, which isn't necessarily bad, but not what I was looking for.
Very friendly staff and amazing food! Will definitely come back again
Very Pricey! Almost $40.00 for 2 burger combos.. Our onion rings were overcooked, and had a fish taste to them..wasn't overly impressed or pleased for the price..
With more and more options at this rest stop, I'm wondering why I keep coming to Lick's. Maybe it's the familiar taste and regular menu.I'm always a little disappointed in my choices after eating here. It's not as good as it once was. But it definitely fuels me to keep going while driving across the province.
Great thick burgers. Good quality and quick. BETTER THEN MCDONALDS. East access off the highway. And they sell there frozen burgers to take home.Fries where to soft for my liking.
Horrible service and extremely expensive. Food is very cheap tasting. I do not recommend
They make great burgers indeed. Just a bit pricey, but that is acceptable simply because of their location. Staff were really nice!
I handed my children money to order their food while I ran for a bladder break. They only ordered a home burger and a poutine. Jen the cashier, threw on some $2 kiddy pops with order. Good common sense. Quick service. Happy campers. Thank you Our visit was on Monday July 8 #80We stopped their again on the way back. Yummy
The sign clearly states that they are open til 7pm. We went to the drivethru at 6:40pm today and were told they were closed. Very disappointing and annoying!!
They changed their patties, they aren't as big anymore but kept the buns the same size. So it's 90% bun and condiments and 10% burger. It still tasted good but they should go back to the large burger
I have not had a Licks burger in more than 15 years and when I saw the sign from the highway was determined we would stop on our next trip through. Those burgers do NOT disappoint - as good as I remember. My husband and I both remarked that, now that we live back in Ontario, we will make a point of making the 3 hour ride north on our motorcycles to enjoy a Licks Burger. And thank you Denise for your great service and for being front and centre serving customers alongside your employees during this uncertain time. Nice reminiscing with you.
Burgers are damn good here. This spot is always a great place to stop driving up to the campground. Everything should be 24 hours especially on holiday weekends
A bit pricey but big portions and good burgers
Just found this gem, I haven’t been to Lick’s in years and it is just as good as I remember.I had the chicken licken with cheese and back bacon, and my son had the kids burger combo.Chicken was cooked perfect, juicy and tender, good amount of cheese and back backon. My sons burger was big for a kids size, lots of fries. Lots of toppings to choose from, love the garlic mayo “guck sauce”
I ordered the Turkey burger. They call it The Gobler. It was over priced but I needed something to eat. I did not get the combo. My son ordered the Taters and Cream. Also overpriced. I had taken my second bite and thought it looked a little pink. I showed it to my adult son but he didn't think so. I took another bite and looked at it again. It was definitely getting redder. I showed it again to my son again and he agreed that it was raw at this point. I felt sick to my stomach. I took it back up. They offered to make me another one. But I refused. I don't think I could have eaten anything else. My son however fully enjoyed his Taters and Cream and that's why this has 2 stars.
Burgers are tasty, but the rest isnt worth writing home about. Service is sub par.
I ordered a burger and poutine.. the Fry's were undercooked and over salted. The burger was completely disgusting it was dry and salty I couldn't eat more than 2 bites... Over priced for how poor the quality of the food is .
These burgers are monstrously huge. I don't need a burger as big as my head. I don't need a mountain of cheese. I don't need 2 enormous tomato slices. I don't need 5 pickle slices and I don't need a handful of hot peppers. The folks behind the counter were nice enough, but when the woman gave me my burger and said "I hope you're hungry" I thought, "never in my life will I be hungry enough to eat this ridiculous burger". I ate 1/3 of it and tossed the rest. I hate being so wasteful, but this gargantuan thing didn't even taste that great. What a joke. The fries were pretty good though, and they have malt vinegar, which was a nice bonus.
The quantity of food was great, quality and price were not what I expected. $20 for a jumbo hotdog combo seemed a bit high. Would gladly of paid that if the food was amazing.
First they are pretty expensive, second, at 10 am the breakfast menu was not ready. We got burgers that were pretty well burned almost the same as the bacon. To make the price look lower, bacon and cheese are not included. 2 burgers and a large putine came at almost $38 😠😨 after adding cheese and bacon. No surprise that the line up at Tim Hortons was huge and almost nobody at Lick's! It happened last year but I was hoping they improved. All the other added components of the burgers were spread at a minimum possible... just a few crumbles of each. I know what to do next time!
To be honest, I didnt care for this experience. Menu on wall seem old and dated and kinda hard to read. Place looked like an old school cafeteria line and the burger I got itself was not impressive at all. I tried it cause I drove by alot, bit not again.
Closed before listed closing time
Licks has one of the best burgers I've ever had. They're absolutely huge and offer pemeal bacon as a topping.
Okay, only has french fries
The cashier was super helpful and polite as well as the lady preparing the food and the food was amazing! The down fall was a lady named Denise behind the counter yelling rudely at the cashier and snatching the food from the hands of the lady preparing the food. I get we all have bad days but if I was an employee of hers I would of walked right out. For that reason I won’t be back.
Ordered a burger fries with gravy and a poutine....got back on the highway only to find out the french fries were not cooked all the way through....This is an awful experience for the price you pay for fast food
Licks has huge portions for your money. I was able to taste "taters and cream", their mac and cheese and a steak wrap. All excellent choices!
Fantastic burgers, in a great location
Great fast food. Clean. Lots of different food options to choose from. The Licks burger was awesome and the burrito from Bar Burrito was amazing.
40$ for 2 michigan, 2 fries and 2 coke.... Really?!?!? Sounds like a tourist ripe off. (Fortunately the chili michigan was good)
the hulk burger is still the greatest meat invention in the age of burger. the gauk sauce is so garlicky and definitely worth the calories!
Fries were good. I got a nature burger wrap they gave me tons of toppings the burger was old and dried up. Also got a fruit cup and the blue tries tasted like sponge weirdest taste ever. Very disappointing considering we spent 40Bucks. Staff and cashier was incredible though nice polite very great!!
Stopped here as my family went all the time when i was a kid, so wanted to relive the experience. Burger was dripping in grease when they put it on the bun. Ordered a milkshake and the guy at cash was like, do you really want one. So i say, why is something wrong? He then proceeds to tell me he makes them and didn't want to make it.... i still ordered it. The whole order wasnt worth the 50 bucks i paid.
Great service. Burgers are hearty, topped to your liking, and delicious. It is worth seeking out a Lick's location near you!
Saw the horror exhibit. I enjoyed it, took my time and read every info plaque. Saw the new dinosaur, haven't been since before the renovation to the dinosaur floor I quite like the new floor plan.
Pretty standard stuff, but the price point doesn’t really match the quality of the product. I mostly visit Lick’s because of the convenient location.
Service was confused and slow. Served the fries first and the burger 5 minutes later. So the fries were cold.
Excellent burgers, and delicious fries!
I have a digestive intolerance to pork and was lied to. These people made me ill for three days. I was told the jumbo hotdogs were all beef. No they aren't. Shame on you.
The woman putting toppings on my order kept giving commentary as if she was angry at me when I'd been polite. Simple things like wanting ketchup and not wanting too much of anything became a chore. She dumped a pile of shredded ice cold cheese on my burger and when I politely requested a new wrap so it wouldn't spill on the bus she treated me like I was at fault for "having so much on it." I had only a little lettuce, a few pickles, and two pieces of onion I requested shredded up so they wouldn't be too much. The burger was very cold when I finally got to eat it and it made me feel so ill I had to throw out the majority of it. Very disappointed. The only reason this has two stars and not one is because Sandra was very kind and worked hard despite being mocked by both people working around her. Very upset. I did nothing wrong but pay for a burger and I was very, very polite entire time and felt like I was being treated like a fool. Not going back.
Ask for a half portion of cheese! Great though!
First Licks burger in over ten years. It was delicious but very very pricey.
Horrible service, and completely unhygienic in the way they handle food. I would recommend all the staff take a proper food handling courses. I will not be coming back.
I miss the Licks of my teenage years. And living in Toronto it was like a casual restaurant. But the one in Parry Sound is like a food court. The burger was the same delicious burger with guk sauce, but the cashier was less than friendly. I asked for a shake, and he said “No.” What?? “No shakes.” And that was that. No explanation, no apology.
French fries were under cooked in my poutine....that's gross
